Leftover stumps get in the way of everything — mowing, building, planting, and clean access. Big Cypress provides stump grinding and removal across Rayville, Monroe, Ruston, Bastrop and across Northeast Louisiana, grinding stumps out below ground level so the ground is usable again. Whether it is one stubborn stump in the yard or dozens left across a tract we have cleared, we grind them down and leave you ground you can work.
Stump grinding pairs naturally with the rest of what we do. After land clearing or forestry mulching, grinding the remaining stumps finishes the job so the tract is ready to grade, plant, or build. As a fellow landowner, Mike knows a half-cleared piece of ground with stumps everywhere is not actually usable — so we take it all the way.
Digging or pushing a stump out tears up a big area, leaves a crater, and brings up roots and dirt you then have to deal with. Grinding turns the stump into chips below grade with far less disturbance to the surrounding ground — so you can mow right over the spot, set a fence post, or build near it.
We grind several inches below the surface, which is what you need to plant grass, run equipment, or pour over the area. The grindings can be raked back into the hole or hauled off, whichever the job calls for.
Some jobs are a single storm-damaged stump in a yard. Others are an entire tract we have just cleared, dotted with stumps that keep it from being mowed, farmed, or built. We handle both, with equipment matched to the size and number of stumps.
On land-clearing and mulching jobs, grinding the stumps is the step that turns "cleared" into "usable." We will tell you up front whether a tract is better mulched, ground, or both, so you are not left with a field full of obstacles.
